I listened to a recent Masters of Scale podcast with John Maeda, VP of Design and AI at Microsoft. He talked about how AI can be used as a partner for leaders in crisis situations. He said that when you're in the middle of a crisis, it's hard to think clearly. Your brain is in "quick thinking" mode, which is good for making quick decisions, but it's not good for making long-term plans.
As the person responsible for everything AI at Microsoft, he argues that AI can help leaders to slow down and think more strategically. AI can be used to generate what-if scenarios, identify potential risks, and develop contingency plans. This can help leaders to make better decisions and avoid making mistakes.
John Maeda also points out that AI can be a trusted partner for leaders. In a crisis, leaders often feel isolated and alone. They may not know who to trust or who to turn to for advice. AI can provide leaders with a sense of security and support. It can be a tool that leaders can use to think through their problems and make the best possible decisions.
So, if you're a leader who is facing a crisis, don't forget about AI. AI can be a valuable partner that can help you to slow down, think more strategically, and make better decisions.
