In my "Learn to Learn" training sessions, I teach methods that help others learn anything much faster. One of the tools I teach is the Pareto Principle, also known as the 80/20 rule. The Pareto Principle states that, for many outcomes, roughly 80% of consequences come from just 20% of causes. In the context of learning, this means we should focus on identifying the vital 20% that leads to 80% of the desired skill.
Thanks for this. Very interesting idea. I am an ESL teacher and I tried using this approach to revise a course outline to ensure that it covers the most essential topics for beginning English speakers . I simply fed it the outline I had constructed and asked ChatGPT to evaluate it with the Parito principle in mind. It gave me very helpful feedback.
